Background
About me…
Before offering independent consulting professional services in the data center facilities industry, I worked as a Consultant with Uptime Institute Professional Services. While at Uptime, I performed numerous Tier Standards compliance certifications for topology design, constructed facility, and Operational Sustainability, as well as Data Center Due Diligence assessments, Tier Gap Analysis reviews, M&O Stamp of Approval assessments, teaching the ATS course, and authoring and presenting various white papers at Uptime functions.
I have worked in critical facilities and data center facility management and operations roles for over 20 years, overseeing a wide variety of mission critical facility types with responsibilities ranging from design/build/operate, capital planning, sustained operations risk mitigation, budget tracking and reporting, development of training and safety programs, facility commissioning, and a wide variety of type and scope of facility projects for upgrades, expansions, and permanent issue resolution.
People who know me will say that I have a real passion for all things data center and well developed convictions about what constitutes good design and operations of data center facilities. I am constantly amazed at how many different ways exist to achieve both. I am obsessed with anything that could impact a data center’s uptime and am always looking for the blind spots in this regard. Finally, an important component of my dedication to client delivery is adding value and sharing information whenever possible above and beyond the scope of the work I am retained to perform.
